Plan of Salvation

I'm not going to apologize for not blogging for literally years because frankly I don't care.  I'm too busy living my life to blog about it.  Here's a little of what I've been up to lately:

I looked on the internet for pictures or cutouts on the plan of salvation and I didn't find any that I really liked.  There are lots of cutesy ones but I wanted something simple and non-interpretive.  I drew and water colored these.  They're not fancy and not perfect but I didn't want perfect because we don't come to earth and make right choices all the time.  I'm a perfectionist and had a hard time deciding that a non-perfectly round earth etc. was okay.  I wanted the pictures to be symbolic of our efforts in the process of the "plan" and my efforts are very short of perfect.  I drew these all free hand and it felt good to let go of the rigidity of wanting everything to be perfect all the time.  I share them with any and all who are interested to hopefully make your search for simple plan of salvation cut outs easier.  I water colored them to match a Primary bulletin board I'm doing for our ward.  I included the black and white for those that want to personalize their own colors or let their kids color them.  Just a note:  the arrow is meant to be used to point toward the celestial kingdom.

Ellayna's Solo Piece - Rondo

Ellayna has been playing the clarinet for 6 months. We think she's gifted but we're a little bias. She mastered Rondo in a weeks time. Her Solo and Ensemble date is Mar 2. This is Mom and Ellayna practicing in our jammies.

Okay . . . so my file is too big for the blog so I'll post it on youtube.

Pinewood Derby & Life

Local Pinewood Derby - Ian took 2nd place overall. His car was designed after K.I.T.T. in the 1980's show Knight Rider.

Final race! Logan Ringo vs. Ian Wright

The first, second and third places got to advance to District Pinewood Derby. There were 108 cars racing. Ian tied for 36th place. Way to go buddy! Above is one of his races. He took first place in this race.

Chris has gone back to school online to get his Bachelor's Degree, is the Ward Clerk, works two jobs, and still manages to make time to be a great husband and father. Becky is an Activity Day Leader and busy mother (enough said). Ellayna just celebrated her 10th birthday. She has an interest in cooking and has made some yummy treats and delicious dinners. Ian is LOVING scouts and is about half way to earning his Wolf. Tia is our socialite and loves her friends at school and church. She has also become a very good reader. She lost both of her front teeth a day apart from each other and for a day had a cyclops tooth. Brayden is done potty training (during the day) and does a great job! He has a favorite push bike that he's had for a long time and it's dying. I just hope it lasts long enough for him to get tired of it and "break-up" with it before it "breaks-up" with him. Isaac just turned one and loves the new found freedom that comes with walking.

Colamity and Cuteness

We had a tornado blow threw the night of May 13th. My Mother's Day flower weathered the storm and the kids were so happy. They sat and marveled over it for a while. You'll see why later.

Yet another picture for my wall.

The kids play house didn't weather the storm. The neighbor said she was outside when it happened. Why she was outside I can't say. None the less she said the wind picked it up and slammed it into the tree. The kids thought for sure my flower would be snapped off or just plain blown away after seeing their playhouse.

Tia saving Hunter (Brayden's playmate) from imminent paralysis. And I'm just standing there taking pictures.

Random Pictures

I haven't had lots of pictures on my blog thus far because I have had to develope them, then scan them in and then post them. I love my new digital camera! Maybe too much.

Easter

Easter was great. The kids ate candy most of the day (Every kids dream!). Grandma was here and we played games together. The kids enjoyed Quiddler. I can't spell so naturally I hated it. Ian just won the spelling bee for his 1st Grade class so he loved the game. I think Ian can spell better than me! I don't remember what we ate, but I do remember having a good time with family.

The Saturday before Easter the Strouds had an Easter egg hunt at their house. It was great fun for the kids. They also have a pond and a paddle boat that Jaymeson took the kids out on. I forgot the camera of course, but it was memorable.

Here are some of the flowers from our flower garden to the west of our house.

And here's the kids with their prized Easter baskets. Chris and I saw someone with furry ears leaving our house just as we were getting home from church and when the kids got upstairs there were baskets on the couch.
